Ontario Auto Insurance

Ontario auto insurance is privately run, with the government set minimum liability coverage being $200,000. The insurance companies are required to cover you for $200,000 for injury and personal damage to others. If the claim is higher then this amount, the insurance company will pay no more then $10,000, property damage, and you will be responsible for any amount over this.
The liability policy, also covers injuries you receive in the accident regardless of who was at fault. If you are injured, the insurance company will pay for a maximum of $100,000 of your medical bills, and you will receive 80 % of your weekly earning for the duration you are not able to work. This can occur for a maximum of 104 weeks and cannot be more the $400 per week. If you were unemployed you will receive $185 a week also for 104 weeks. Also $72,000 is available to cover the cost of in-house care if you require it.
If you are killed in an accident, your family will be compensated for your death, but this amount depends on many factors.
